I'll admit…
Even though I've put together this course with the best exercises I know…
All the ones I've tested hundreds of my beginner students…
Doing my best to remove any fat from learning process…
It's still not the best thing about this course.
Look these exercises I'm going to show you are revolutionary…
They work…
But they only work if they're backed up with something more important.
If there’s a guy who knows what habits you need to improve at music… it’s Ed Sheeran.
His rags to riches story is inspiring…
But something overlooked a lot is his thoughts about learning.
In a video I saw of him… Ed Sheeran talks about getting the “tap” running with songwriting…
He says that you have to think about it like turning on a dirty tap… at first it’s going to run with muddy water…
And if you turn it off there… you’ll think this tap is just filthy…
But if you keep that tap running… eventually clean water will come out.
You have to build the habit of actually doing the writing… and then the good songs will come.
Well… the exact same thing is true for guitar…
When it comes to learning guitar… Of course you’re going to be bad in the beginning…
Everyone is bad at the beginning… with every new skill…
Do you think Jimi Hendrix flew out of his mother being able to play like that?...
Of course not…
He was just like everyone else as a baby…
But he practised a lot!
Fun fact… Hendrix used to take his guitar to the toilet with him to keep practising…
I’m not recommending this… But, I can’t stop you…
The most important part about guitar… is actually picking it up…
You have to be in a groove of playing regularly to actually make progress.
What separates people who get really good at guitar from those who don’t?
They love it.
They learn to love playing the guitar...
At first it might feel like a real chore…
But here’s what I recommend….
Play What You Love… Until You Love To Play
Even if you had no teacher… and no lessons… and no idea what you were doing…
Literally… if the only thing you did each day for the next month is pick up the guitar… and play around with it trying out songs you like...
Discovering things about it… working out how to play it…
Do you think you’d be able to play something by the end of the month?
I can tell you (from experience) that you would.
You'd be significantly better… just because you would have spent time playing the guitar...
So many people get started on the guitar… then go into a world of the internet with a million YouTube videos…
And before you know it they aren’t sure what to practise any more…
How do I know?
Because years later they come to see me when they want to start playing again…
But the answer is really just to go and get started…
The internet has some amazing gifts… and also some big drawbacks…
One gift is you now have access to everyone who has ever picked up a guitar and they can give you free lessons…
The problem is that it’s wildly overwhelming…
And most often the exercises too difficult for a beginner to actually do.
Imagine waking up in 30 days...
You grab your coffee and you sit down to pick up your guitar...
You can confidently... and easily play a song...
You're able to play for enjoyment for the first time ever...
And it's fun...
Your fingers don't hurt... and those fingers haven't forgotten what to do...
Finally you're over the hump... You're over the very beginning of the guitar...
Heck, you've probably learned a whole song at this point...
Isn't one song all you need to be able to play the guitar?
You don't need to play lots of songs... just one song really well...
If someone asks you if you play the guitar... you'll be the person who says "sure"...
You pick up the guitar... nail that one song...
"More, More" they shout...
'No, I'm good' you say....
They are so impressed by your talent...
The secret they'll never know is that you can't even play another song...
Because you can just play that one song.
This is why I created this course…
I want you to get into the habit of playing…
So what is my 30 Day Beginner Challenge?
Well let me tell you…
